How to install the Tongsheng mid-drive motor

Here is our step by step guide to installing a Tongsheng TSDZ2-B mid-drive motor kit.

STEP 1: REMOVE THE PEDALS AND THE BOTTOM BRACKET

Use the appropriate wrenches and bottom bracket tool to remove the pedals and the bottom bracket from your bike.

STEP 2: INSTALL THE TONGSHENG MOTOR

Follow the manufacturer's instructions to install the Tongsheng motor onto the bottom bracket of your bike. Make sure to use the appropriate torque when tightening the bolts. It's important to position the ebike motors properly, so be sure to follow the instructions closely. Use spacers if required so the motor doesn't touch chainstay.

STEP 3: INSTALL THE CHAINRING

The Tongsheng kit usually comes with a chainring already installed. If not installed, use the appropriate bolts to attach it to the motor. Make sure it's tightened properly and aligned with the chain.

STEP 4: INSTALL THE CRANKS

Attach Tongsheng cranks left and right to the motor crank using the appropriate bolts.

STEP 5: INSTALL THE WIRING

Run the wiring from the Tongsheng motor to the controller and battery. Be sure to follow the instructions closely and use electrical tape to secure the wiring in place.

STEP 6: INSTALL THE BATTERY

Attach the battery to your bike's frame, following the manufacturer's instructions. Be sure to position it in a safe and secure location.

STEP 7: TEST THE MOTOR

Once everything is installed, test the motor to make sure it's working properly. Check the torque sensor and the throttle, if your ebike conversion kits includes one. If there are any issues, troubleshoot them following the manufacturer's instructions.

STEP 8: ADJUST THE BRAKES AND GEARS

Adjust the brakes and gears on your bike as necessary. The Tongsheng motor may affect how these components work, so it's important to make sure they're adjusted properly.

With these steps completed, you should now have successfully installed the Tongsheng TSDZ2-B mid-drive motor onto your bike. Enjoy the ride!
